Discovering stone and bronze
My passion for sculpture began in 1996, when I discovered the incredibly beautiful rich colors of stone, and the nobility of bronze. My entire house became an artist's studio ! I carved stone in the garage, polished it in the dining room, modeled wax in the office, and cast plaster moulds in the kitchen. Luckily, I now have a completely functional studio in the basement and a space to show my work and to clients.

Nature as inspiration
As a Mont-St-Hilaire resident, I'm surrounded by nature, and it's my source of inspiration. I enjoy frequent walks in the forest with my husband, Jean-Françoys, where we observe many beautiful birds in their natural environment. Birds and feminine figures are my favorite subjects. Using simple forms, I try to capture their grace, finesse and elegance, prefering to suggest an emotion and a certain intimacy between the subjects.

The creative process
During the creative process, my intuition guides me, and I really enjoy the pleasure of creating. The shape of the stone also inspires me, I carve it directly, usually without drawings. Many hours are spent polishing it, and variations of a color are obtained with sanding techniques.

One of a kind
Each stone sculpture is one of a kind, a hand made original of alabaster or soapstone. With a certain spiritual quality, their graceful lines inspire calm, peace and serenity.

The bronze sculptures are one of a kind, or reproduced in very small series. Clay or wax is used to model the original. Then it's sent to an art foundry to be cast in bronze, using the lost-wax process.

An original gift
Sculpture is such an original gift, because an artist has placed in it all of her emotions, sensitivity and many hours of work. Whether to celebrate a retirement, as a wedding gift, to display in a professional office, or as a gift we give to ourselves, a sculpture is always appreciated. Commissions for corporate gifts are welcome.

An investment
A work of art by a canadian artist purchased and displayed in a professional environment could be eligible for income tax breaks. Check with your accountant about it's amortization over several years.

Influence of art
I've reached my goal if I can get a sense of lightness, movement or life in a hard and heavy material like stone or bronze. I always hope my creations will find their way into an environment where they can positively influence those who admire them. I'd like to think a little spark of my life can remain in them, some of the joy I felt when they were created.
